Who is VFC?
VFC is a Colorado non-profit that administers a turnkey vehicle
donation program for other non-profits. Over 350 non-profits
nationwide use VFC and over 27,000 donated vehicles have been processed
through the program.
How does the program work?
Donors contact VFC using the toll free number above or by using the
online donation form. VFC verifies all information, dispatches a
tow truck and processes the necessary documentation for each
donation. The towing company will call donors directly to
schedule the pick up. At the time of pick up, the driver will
provide a receipt for taking the vehicle. Please have the keys
and appropriately signed title ready for the driver.
What types of vehicles are accepted?
VFC accepts cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, dirt bikes, boats, recreational vehicles, campers, tractors and trailers!
What does a donor need before they make a donation?
Three things are needed: (1) A clear title, which means a title
with the donor’s name listed in the owner's section, without an
assignment or transfer to another person. All liens must be released
prior to donating the vehicle. (2) Car keys. (3) When
contacting VFC either over the phone or online, please have the title
and current mileage in hand.

How does a donor process an online vehicle donation? Vehicle donations can be made online be accessing VFC’s charity listing at www.vehiclesforcharity.org/CharityList2.php?State=All.
Then, select the state of Colorado and scroll through the alphabetical
list to find the Capuchin Province of Mid-America and select
‘Donate Now’. The direct link for the Capuchin

Is there a towing fee?
No, there is no charge to the donor for towing.
How long will it take for my vehicle to be picked up?
Typically, vehicles will be picked up within 2-4 business days.
The towing company will contact the donor directly to schedule the pick
up.
What is done with donated vehicles?
The vehicles are taken to an auction and sold to the highest bidder. Occasionally, some vehicles are sold to salvage.
Does a donor receive a tax writeoff?
Yes! If the donor plans to deduct over $500, they will be allowed
a deduction in the amount of the gross selling price of the
vehicle. A packet will be mailed to the donor within 30 days of
the sale of the vehicle regarding the required IRS information
needed. Or, a donor may choose to take a deduction under $500
without written acknowledgment. IRS GUIDELINES WILL NOT AFFECT
THE AMOUNT YOUR CHARITY RECEIVES FOR YOUR DONATION.

provide general guidelines for individuals who donate a vehicle.

What documents do donors receive after making a vehicle donation?
Each donor will receive a thank you/acknowledgement letter and all
required IRS tax forms within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle.
How are proceeds from the sale of my donated vehicle disbursed?
The Capuchin Province of Mid-America and the Metropolitan Association
for Retarded Citizens (MARC), both non-profit organizations, share the
proceeds. Approximately 60% is allocated to the Capuchin
Franciscan friars of the Mid-America Province.

addition to praying the Divine Office and celebrating the holy Mass,
the friars spend time in quiet prayer and meditation. If you would like
